My first encounter with Yiddish, both the language and the culture, made me want to jump on my feet and run away. But after I realized that I was programmed to dislike it from a young age, I slowly found a way to stay on both feet, root myself, let go of my prejudices, listen more carefully, and follow a new music melody with humming, smile a new beautiful word into the world. Only then I could explore a connection that goes deep to my core, and I fell in love. Today Yiddish is not only a new passion, it is a gate into an incredible community and one of the most fertile grounds I’ve ever encountered to create in.

Generation J is an incredible one-of-a-kind inclusive empowerment incubator summer camp for young artists, revolving creations and questions around identity, community, Yiddish, borders, margins, and everything in between.

I am a proud part of the founding faculty of the project :)
